5mg Lithium Orotate Reverses Alzheimer's Disease, Insomnia, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD. $trillions wasted!

This is an absolute breakthrough in science.

Researchers have wasted over $100 billion in the past decades researching drugs to cure Alzheimer’s disease based on fraudulent studies showing that specific amyloid-beta plaques were the root cause (they do seem to be highly correlated). Much more money has been wasted on finding drug cures for all kinds of other diseases that low-dose lithium orotate also treats. Below is the video that got me down this research rabbit hole, summarizing a recent study.


Sorta Natural

Lithium is a natural mineral found in younger rock formations. People who live in areas with higher natural lithium levels in their water tend to have better mental health (it balances your mood). On the other hand, the optimal form of lithium according to this study, the orotate salt, is not one of the forms found in water naturally, although orotic acid is found naturally in your body.


Other Health Benefits

In addition to the commonly known benefits on mood and anxiety, the following lesser-known benefits are also of note:

  • Autism symptoms are significantly reduced in about 70% of autistic kids. Note that was with high-dose lithium carbonate, but low-dose lithium orotate can work even better, anecdotally. The other highly important nutrient for autism is folinic acid (megadosing), (the active form of folic acid) which also helps about 70% of autistic kids. Detoxing metals, vaccines, and pathogens, and improving gut barrier function is also super important.

  • ADHD & Brain fog reduced, along with general neuroprotection and reduction of glutamate excitotoxicity. Lithium is a core component of Dr. Greenblatt’s recipe for curing ADHD.

  • Circadian rhythm and sleep regulation improved, reducing daytime grogginess.

  • Bone density improved.

  • Inflammation and autoimmune conditions improved.

  • Metabolic health improved by boosting glucose metabolism.

  • Blood pressure reduced

  • Strokes and heart attacks reduced.

  • Prolongs life via protection of telomere length.


Side Effects

Note that lithium carbonate (which is the form prescribed by Drs, of course!) can actually cause Alzheimer’s disease, among a number of other health issues, and also causes seizures when used with psychedelics at prescribed high doses (but low-dose lithium orotate does not appear to cause them).

The only studied side effect of lithium orotate microdosing is that it promotes relaxation and sleep, so you should take it at bedtime. I have other sleep tips here.

Although not mentioned in the above video or in any studies, there are a few side effects reported in forums (just a couple anecdotes):

  • Dry eyes, reported by one person

  • Anxiety increased in some users (they should reduce dose to 1mg or less).

  • Emotional blunting and reduced euphoria is rare with low doses, but it can indicate you should take less.


Other supplements to add to the mix for brain health

  • Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), is one of the most well-studied natural substances to improve health of the brain and every other organ.   • Sibo yogurt can also help with many of the same issues. I discuss this more on my detox page.

  • Free-Inositol levels are depleted by lithium as it preserves it in the form of inositol-1-phosphate. This is actually one of the ways that lithium works to benefit the brain, since “chronically elevated free inositol can dysregulate osmotic balance, overdrive PI-mediated signaling, induce excitotoxic calcium release, and provoke astrocyte-driven inflammation, all of which undermine neuronal health and network stability. But free inositol also has immense health benefits (especially for cancer suppression) in other pathways. Thus, you should supplement with inositol, especially when taking lithium, so you get the best of both worlds.

  • Manganese is a trace mineral which works synergistically for neurotransmitter production and neuronal protection, which some folks recommend to take specifically when using lithium.

  • B-vitamins, using the correct forms, especially high dose benfotiamine, P5P, folinic acid, niacin, and B-12 (not in the cheap cyanocobalamin form). All these B vitamins are critical for health brain function as well as peripheral nerve function, and B-12 specifically is transported with the help of lithium. A natural method is to just eat 12 raw pastured eggs daily, which contain all the B vitamins and nearly every other nutrient you need. One naturopath reportedly cured 80% of her patients’ chronic illnesses, whatever they were, with this egg prescription.
