They Want You Addicted!
A ton of people these days are getting addicted to ketamine for depression. It is extremely toxic not just to the bladder but to every organ and mostly to the brain. Yet somehow, the media has convinced people that it's Safe And Effective, because it is FDA-approved. I wrote more about this here.
After hearing so many despairing stories of people not being able to quit ket, I finally heard one friend with a success story. He was able to switch to iboga and low dose vaped DMT in order to get some of the same benefits that ket offered, and even others it didn't. Furthermore, iboga helped his brain work better instead of worse. And then my ex-psychiatrist friend sent me this published case report of another person who got off ket with ibogaine. Check my iboga guide here for all the safety considerations.
That's only one data point. It seems not many people are trying this approach. But I will share some Claude research here showing that it is a very promising avenue to explore.
Reverse Toxicity with Powerful, Cheap, Safe Supplements
Ketamine brain damage, Autism *and* a variety of mental illnesses and cognitive impairments are largely caused by NMDA receptor dysfunction. L-Serine is an amino acid which helps push the NMDA receptor open (as a co-agonist) more frequently, allowing glutamate to flow better thru the channel. Then, supplementing with zinc bisglycinate anchors the channel -- if you have enough SHANK protein, which requires supplementing with leucine or BCAAs. This combo increases post-synaptic density for more long-term impact. If you suffer from ketamine-induced “tired but wired” anxiety, you should also consider supplementing with Phosphatidylserine, which rebuilds cell membranes and is proven to help lower cortisol. For more info: https://gemini.google.com/share/179e0670d364. I also wrote a more in-depth article on fixing NMDA dysfunction here.
In addition, many studies and anecdotes have found a couple of powerful natural supplements which seem to prevent a lot of the damage caused by ketamine, mainly N-acetylcysteine (NAC) with equal amounts glycine, and EGCG (or just matcha green tea) (Grok research). While these supplements might not be able to fully reverse damage already done, they can help, along with DMSO, ZHoly3O, and other remedies. For fully reversing bladder damage, the one thing that seems to work is direct instillation of hyaluronic acid into the bladder (obviously by a doctor).
One issue many people get aside from neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity is inflammation and scarring of the bile ducts. I have one friend who had a lot of trouble with chronic pain under his ribs and diarrhea from chronic ket use. He found that the Andrea Moritz liver flush, 200mg idebenone, and 1g TUDCA daily helped a lot.
Reversing Ketamine-Induced Central Sensitization
My friend Michael is a licensed psychotherapist who is licensed specifically to work with patients using ketamine-assisted therapy. Here is his response to me:
Other plant allies may also help
Another thing that could help with ketamine addiction is Ghost Pipe (monotropa uniflora). You can buy tinctures of this on Etsy, among other places. For about half the people who try it, it seems to have an effect similar to ketamine but less toxic and stupid feeling.
I also believe that people could quit ketamine just by following my Haoma protocol. Please comment if you try either!
