I have to disagree about the part that to be loved by God you have to shut your mind off, ignore perceived contradictions in scripture/ not think critically, and therefore accept Jesus as your savior. God loved humanity before Jesus came to the earth for one. He sent His son out of love for all to be redeemed. You said yourself to love someone is to want the best for them no matter what. That's his desire according to scripture- for all to be redeemed and live eternally with him. I'm curious what contradictions you see in the Bible. Most of the ones that I have heard claimed have been from a lack of understanding the ancient near eastern context of parts of the Old Testament as it relates to New Testament. i know this is not a new video, so perhaps your perspective has changed since this was posted.
As i explained in corinthians.u-dont-exist.com which you listened to recently iirc, there's a clear contradiction between what most of the bible preaches regarding salvation thru faith and what Paul preaches in 1 Corinthians 13, that faith is worthless without Love. Love is the key, not believing in stuff
