We have been doing research to see where want to live. Our friend Oliver invited us to the peaceful paradise called Ukraine, but we were not convinced. We have the following considerations:
Covid lockdowns should have been very mild or not at all
Government should not be a huge dangerous technocracy like Canada, China, USA, etc., but should be stable and democratic.
Ayahuasca (and loveyhuasca) and iboga should not be specifically illegal for casual use (it is legal in some Amazonian countries but only for traditional ceremonies), and drug laws in general should not be draconian.
Homicide rate should be low.
Arrest rate should be low.
Herbal medicine should be highly respected and promoted.
Easy to live in this country without getting kicked out for residency reasons.
We used Perplexity Pro to do deep research and come up with the answer. There is only one country which fits all these criteria. It also happens to be the only country that I have a personal anecdote about from my a local friend who gave ayahuasca to someone who became violent, and this is probably even more useful than whatever info you can find with AI, to understand the real risks.
